WDD in Israel

Activities organised by the Israeli Diabetes Association:

1. Lighting in blue of Aviv Tower, Soroka Hospital and Lidorr Chemicals Buidling

2. National Diabetes fair on November 13 with thousands of participants, and lectures of leading Diabetes doctors, nurses and dieticians. An exhibition will involve medical, medical equipment, and food companies.

3. Launch of a new branch of the association.

4. 2 new schools for Diabetes - a series of 12 meetings each with lectures and workshops

5. 10 one-day free diabetes related check-up stations for the public, operating 10 hours each, at the centers of 10 major cities in Israel (eg. Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Raanana). This is done with our mobile lab, a physician and a nurse in each one, with the sponsorship of MSD, Novo-Nordisk and Sanofi-Aventis.

6. Annual national diabetes nurses convention

7. Association magazine as supplement to leading daily newspaper in Israel

8. Radio broadcasting on three leading stations 10 times a day for the three days preceding November 14

9. Three-month nation wide campaign through radio, TV and Internet, sponsored by Novo-Nordisk, with one of the major actors and stand-up performers in Israel. The
campaign is calling people with Diabetes - like himself - not to be shy and ask for help and guidance while getting information from the association web site.

10. Articles in various local newspapers about Diabetes, written by leading physicians in Israel.

11. Glucose, fat and foot check-ups in our branches.
