To mark the first United Nations observance of World Diabetes Day in New York, IDF has secured the partnership of the Empire State Building. One of New York's most famous buildings will light up in blue on the evening of November 14.

IDF is also aware of a number of other approached to light up buildings to mark the day. These include:

Australia: Sydney Opera House
Egypt: Alexandria Citadel and Library
Japan: Tokyo Tower
Switzerland: Jet d'Eau fountain in Geneva
United Kingdom: London Eye
