Tokyo Tower to light up the skyline on World Diabetes Day

Tokyo TowerThe Japan Association for Diabetes Education and Care (JADEC) has announced that the Tokyo Tower will light up in blue on the evening of 14 November to mark the first United Nations observed World Diabetes Day. This is the latest global landmark to adhere to the IDF challenge to light up the skyline on World Diabetes Day. The Tower, opened in 1958, stands at 333 metres high and is the world's tallest self-supporting steel tower. Some 176 floodlights are installed in various parts of the tower.

The JADEC will hold a press conference to publicize the lighting, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
