The world famous Niagara Falls is the latest in the list of global landmarks that will light up in blue on 14 November to mark the first United Nations World Diabetes Day. The waterfall on the Canadian side will be lit to raise awareness of World Diabetes Day.

Estimated to be around 12,000 years old, Niagara Falls is the most powerful waterfall in North America, with over six million cubic feet of water falling over the crest line every minute.
