In Germany, the state-of-the-art Allianz Arena in Munich, home to 20-time German National Football League Champions Bayern Munich and the other Munich club TSV 1860, has added its name to the list of global landmarks that will light up in blue to mark the first United Nations World Diabetes Day on 14 November. Opened in 2005, the Allianz Arena is one of the most modern and architecturally unique football stadiums in Europe, with a capacity of some 70,000 spectators.
