The International Diabetes Federation's archive of the World Diabetes Day 2007 Monuments in Blue Challenge. To mark the monumental occasion of the first observance of World Diabetes Day by the United Nations in 2007, we initiated a challenge to light up landmark monuments in the colour of the World Diabetes Day logo and/or beam the logo onto a landmark or landmark building. The initiative exceeded all expectations and was a resounding success, with over 300 monuments and other buildings around the world lighting up in blue on 14 November as beacons of hope for the 246 million people living with diabetes.
