Chris J. Delicata currently serves as Vice President and Treasurer of the European Region of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF-Europe). He has been serving on the IDF Europe Board since 2003 and was previously spokesman on Discrimination issues.

He also serves as a member of the Executive Board of IDF Global.

He has also been actively involved in the Maltese Diabetes Association since 2001 and is currently Vice President of the Association.

Mr. Delicata, aged 35, is an Insurance Practitioner by profession and is currently employed as a Senior Manager with one of the leading insurance companies in Malta.

His eldest son Jack was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1999 when he was just one year. This difficult episode in his life encouraged him to work wholeheartedly for diabetes. He is a firm believer in the rights of diabetic patients and takes a keen and active role in matters relating to discrimination, insurance, juvenile diabetes, political affairs, diabetes in deprived countries and other related matters.

He resides in Malta and is married to Michelle nee Gambin and has three children; Jack aged 10, Adam aged 8 and Kate aged 2.
