Slovakian landmark to light in blue for World Diabetes Day
The Bratislava Castle in Bratislava, Slovakia is the first landmark in the country to confirm that it will light in blue as part of the Monument Challenge on World Diabetes Day, November 14.
The Castle, a rectangular-shaped fortification with four corner towers, is built on a hill near the Danube River. Edifices on the hill date back to 3500 BC. In 1811, the castle was burnt to the ground and was not rebuilt until 1956, following construction lasting 12 years. It now houses a museum and offers a beautiful view of the city below.

Argentinian Landmark joins Monument Challenge
The Obelisk in Buenos Aires, Argentina has confirmed that it will again be among the iconic monuments around the world that will light in blue to help raise awareness of diabetes on World Diabetes Day, 14 November.
