World Diabetes Day, the global public awareness campaign led by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), is now present on multiple social networking sites in order to reach new audiences and further engage its global network of supporters.

Authorities in Oviedo, Spain, have communicated that their city hall, one of the over 1100 monuments and buildings around the world that were lit in blue in 2008 to mark World Diabetes Day, will stay lit in blue all year round.

Scott Anderson and Carrie Molho set a blistering pace in the official World Diabetes Day off-road race car at the recent Mint 400 near Las Vegas, Nevada.

Desert Dingo Racing's '69 VW Beetle - the official World Diabetes Day off road race car - took fifth in class in the historic Mint 400 desert race outside Las Vegas, Nevada (USA) on March 29 and team members used the event to spread the word about the growing threat of diabetes.
